From Lake Elsinore: Do you have clear drinking water?

One day a few years ago we ran out of filtered water. Although we have a small water filter appliance we use most of the time the filter was dirty so my wife asked me to boil some water instead.
I was shocked to see lots of sediment in the water at the bottom of the pot. Even when we poured the water from the pot it had a distinct brown color. It sure was not the clear color I expected. I had believed our water company until then that our water was of the highest standards. Now I don’t believe anything they say.
Ever since then I started using the filtered water. Before that I didn’t bother with that most of the time. I let the kids and wife have their filtered water or bottled water we bought at the store.
Have any of you quit drinking tap water because you discovered it was dirty or had “stuff” in it that you didn’t expect?
